Bitchcraft: Owning Your Power in a Complicated World by Beth Gibbs is a powerful guide that provides the necessary skills needed to keep you moving forward despite life’s challenges, including practices to help you reach your goals in a complicated world. Bitchcraft, coined from two words, ‘bitch’ and ‘craft,’ has three stages ranging from showing up and being heard, managing strong emotions, and being sassy. Beth discusses her journey toward becoming SASSY, an acronym that stands for strong, assertive, skillful, serene, and youthful. While analyzing Maslow’s hierarchy, the struggle to acquire several basic needs is crucial before a person can pursue more social, emotional, and self-actualizing needs, like practicing Bitchcraft. Self-discovery and self-actualization are essential to being SASSY and practicing your best Bitchcraft skills.

I found the inspiring and morally sound lessons very impressive. The self-assessment questions made the entire concept of this book practical for all kinds of readers. I must commend the author on her detailed, compelling, and engaging writing, which left me with no confusion. The pace of the narrative added to my reading pleasure, and the organization and outline of her thoughts helped me comprehend with ease. The author shows brilliance and talent in her writing skills and includes references and quotes, which add some layers of authenticity to most sections and concepts discussed. I will be applying the principles and discussions I noted while reading to improve my life. I recommend Bitchcraft by Beth Gibbs to anyone intent on discovering themselves and overcoming their challenges in a complex world.
