Heartbreak. Frustration. Overwhelm. Anger.
Every year, we hear stories of other publishers who have closed their doors and left authors hanging. After working for months, even years, on their books, authors are left with unanswered calls, closed doors and demands for more money if they want their source files returned.
Powerless in the face of someone else’s incompetence.
If you are one of the thousands of authors who received an email from Ryan Tate, your former publisher, stating that Tate is "experiencing a transition period," you may be wondering what the future holds for your book.
That sinking feeling... that punch in the gut... won’t go away until you can take back control and command the next steps that get your book back on the shelves.
You’ll need a new relationship with a publisher that’s clearly different from what you’ve experienced before.
At Emerald Lake Books, we don't want to control you. We want to partner with you to secure your book's future.
Not everyone is a good fit for what we do.
But when it’s a good fit, it’s a great match.
We are selective about the books that we take on and we only work with a handful of authors at a time. This way, we ensure that every author and every title receives the attention they deserve.
You aren't just one among many with us. You are among the chosen few.
We seek books that resonate with us personally, books we believe can reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
Our primary focus is working with authors who use their books to not only build their own business but to make a difference in the lives of their readers.
Whether it's a business book or not, when we find a book we love, we’re excited to be part of getting it to its market.
Be the goal.
Just as important as the quality of the book and its message, is how clearly its goals have been defined. We'll help you define your goals and find the best way to position your book to ensure it reaches the target.
Each book is unique and deserves time and attention to bring its singular qualities to the surface. So you won't find us taking a cookie cutter approach and dropping your copy into a standard template and slapping clip-art quality images on the cover.
Talk to us.
When you sign with Emerald Lake Books, you may be surprised to find there is no gatekeeper. If you have a question, you'll be talking to the person directly responsible for that aspect of the process, whether it's the publisher, editor or designer.
This is a collaborative relationship and it's important to us that you're happy not only with the result, but throughout the process.
Seriously, talk to us.
Take some time to look around our site and get to know who we are. We invite you to review our publishing agreement as well.
You may notice that there aren't any prices listed on our site. That's because every book receives its own estimate. No two books are alike! So how can "one price fit all?"
We base our pricing on the effort required to meet the author's goals. You will never be surprised with upsells or add-ons. When we give you our pricing, we are clear about what it covers and how much it costs. Unless you request additional services, the price is the price is the price.
When you're ready to work with us, we invite you to tell us about yourself and your project.
If you have more questions, feel free to contact us. We'd love to talk.
