Let’s face it… Not every publisher out there is a good fit. For a variety of reasons, you may be looking to move your title from your current publisher to a new one. Before going too far down that path, make sure that you’ve reviewed your existing contract and that you have retained the necessary rights to take your work elsewhere. If you’re not certain, consult with your attorney about it, but what you’re typically looking for is verbiage that says you gave your current publisher “non-exclusive rights” to publish your material. If that’s the case, you should be good to go!
Once you’ve lined up who you want to work with moving forward and you’ve obtained all of the necessary source files to republish your book, it’s time to start exploring your options.
We’re grateful that Emerald Lake Books is a publisher you’re considering using. We recognize that it may be hard for you to trust someone else a second time with the same work, and we won’t abuse the trust that you give us.
